Make a 4×6 Photo Print Sheet

A photo print sheet places several copies of one cropped ID photo on a single page for printing at a photo kiosk. Choose a paper size, print the sheet, then cut out the individual photos.

What the sheet does

The tool above arranges your cropped photo on a 4×6-inch (10×15 cm), 5×7-inch, A4, or US Letter sheet. It creates the layout at 300 DPI and adds cut marks to show where each photo ends.

A kiosk can print the sheet as an ordinary photo print. The sheet is a way to carry several copies on one print; it does not change the size or content of your individual photo.

Prepare your photo

Take a new photo in a bright place with even light. Stand in front of a plain wall, face the camera, and keep your head level. Ask another person to take it if you can. Avoid a close selfie, since it can make the face look distorted.

Check that your whole head is in the picture and your face is sharp. A dark image, blur, glare, strong shadows, or a busy background can make a photo hard to use. If you need a U.S. passport photo, the State Department requires an original, unedited photo with a plain white or off-white background, no shadows, a neutral expression, both eyes open, and a closed mouth.[1]

Make the sheet

1. Select the photo you have already cropped to the size needed for your application. The tool runs in your browser; your photo stays on your device.

2. Choose the paper that matches the kiosk print you plan to order: 4×6 inches, 5×7 inches, A4, or US Letter. The number of copies that fit depends on the photo and paper sizes.

3. Review the preview. Check that each copy is upright, fully visible, and separated by cut marks. Download or save the finished sheet to your device.

Print and cut

At the kiosk, choose a regular photo print that matches the sheet size. Do not let the kiosk crop, zoom, or fit the sheet to a different size; that can change the size of the photos. If the kiosk offers a borderless option, inspect its preview for clipped edges or cut marks.

After printing, use clean scissors or a paper cutter to follow the marks. Keep the cut edges straight and avoid cutting into the photo. Compare one cut photo with the dimensions requested by your application before you trim the rest.

Check the application rules

A correctly printed sheet does not mean the photo meets every application rule. Photo size, head position, background, age exceptions, and submission steps vary by authority. For example, a U.S. passport photo must be 2×2 inches (51×51 mm), with a head height of 1 to 1⅜ inches (25–35 mm). A UK passport photo must be 45 mm high by 35 mm wide, with the head image 29–34 mm high.[1][2]

Check the instructions for your exact passport, visa, or ID before printing. Some applications ask for a digital file, and some ask for separate prints. The sheet maker cannot check your identity, the photo date, your expression, lighting, background, or whether an authority will accept the image. The authority makes that decision.

Frequently asked questions

Can I print passport photos at a photo kiosk?

You can print the sheet as an ordinary photo print, then cut out the copies. Check that your application accepts printed photos and that each cut photo has the required size. For a UK passport application by paper form, GOV.UK says photos must not be a cut down version of a larger picture.[2]

Which paper size should I choose for the sheet?

Choose the same size as the kiosk print you plan to order: 4×6 inches (10×15 cm), 5×7 inches, A4, or US Letter.

Will the kiosk keep the photo at the right size?

Only if it prints the sheet at its original size. Avoid options that crop, zoom, or fit the image to a different paper size, and check the kiosk preview.

Does a print sheet make my photo valid for a passport?

No. The sheet arranges copies for printing. Check the rules for your application, including photo size, image requirements, and whether you need prints or a digital photo.

Can this tool tell me if my photo will be accepted?

No. It cannot verify every photo rule or predict an authority’s decision. Review the official instructions and inspect the printed photo before submitting it.
